Centrum Specialist Vision
What is Centrum Specialist Vision?
I don’t think we will ever realize how much we take our eyes for granted, until we are no longer able to see out of them. On both sides of my family, I have family members that have completely lost their sight, or have very limited sight. And although the technology to improve eye sight continues to grow by leaps and bounds, protecting our eyes now is the best line of defense we have. What’s in Centrum Specialist Vision?
- Vitamin A, C, D, E, K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Phosphorus, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, Chloride, Potassium, Lutein, Zexanthin
Is Centrum Specialist Vision safe?
Yes!! In each serving of Centrum Specialist Vision you will find only the highest quality of ingredients. It’s just too bad that they did not include more high-quality ingredients in this supplement. However, there are large amounts of Vitamin B-12. Vitamin B-12 affects the way your nerves are able to function as well as your overall nervous system. Vitamin B-12 comes from animal products.
When you do not have enough Vitamin B-12, optic neuropathy (damage to the optic nerve) and decreased vision can occur. A study done on children found that individuals who did not eat animal products developed optic neuropathy due to the Vitamin B-12 deficiency. However, when Vitamin B-12 injections were given, this condition was reversed. The same may hold true in adults.
Conclusion
As a RN in the healthcare field, I have no trouble endorsing a vitamin that specifically targets your eyes. The combination of Lutein and Zexanthin as well as the antioxidant nutrients and Vitamin B-12 work well together to give your eyes everything they need to stay strong as your body weakens.
However, I would have liked to have seen more high-quality ingredients, as well as higher amounts of other important ingredients such as calcium. I can’t understand why with Centrum being the #1 recommended brand by doctors, why they can’t come up with a powerhouse vitamin that will cater to all of your special needs. Plus at $0.60/day, you should be able to invest that money into something else that will completely benefit you instead of having to take multiple supplements.
